Wuskwatim Lake (Oskotihmo–sahkahihkahn)

Wuskwatim Lake Present Day
Wuskwatim is a large lake with many beaver dams. Before the flood it had dancing circles. These circles were part of the goose dancing ceremonies which involved lots of feasting and singing.

Wuskwatim was a place where people went to hunt, fish, and harvest many traditional medicines. There used to be more communities on the Lake, but they are now gone. At one time the lake was fed by many rivers and had several islands in the middle of it. The long beach on the south side of the lake, called Wuskwatim Beach, is still there but the former communities and islands are all gone or underwater now.
