RC Point (Pah-kwayisihk)

RC Point Present Day
RC Point was named for the Roman Catholic mission established here in 1930. People would travel from other communities here for mass and set up tents around the mission. Before the flooding it was a favourite spot to fish, summer and winter. In those times it was a narrow windy river that opened into a lake at the far end. People would take leisurely canoe trips down the river enjoying the gentle water and the numerous types of birds. Twenty feet back from the river there was hay that people would harvest.
