The men of NCN built the United Church that sits on Poplar Point. It was a big undertaking and some of their children remember going to the construction site as children and seeing their father’s working.

Some may be surprised to know that there use to be cliffs that towered twelve feet above the water. It was a favourite spot for teenagers to play and swim before the flooding. They would dive off the cliffs into the bay that was calm and had clear water.
